Abstract:
The Sustainability Indicators in the Agrotourism and Ecological Development Plan will help the
authorities have a management tool that guides the actions that in agrotourism and ecological
matters will seek its advancement in the Guaranda canton. The justification demonstrates its need,
importance, impact and relevance. The Theoretical Utility includes agrotourism, ecology and
tourism from the privileged sectors of the canton, and the practical Utility is to have a
comprehensive plan. The general objective is to have an agrotourism and ecological development
plan based on Sustainability Indicators to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the
Guaranda canton; supported by several specific objectives that contribute to the fulfillment of the
plan. The methodological design is expressed in the Research – Action – Participation method with
which the participation of society, its urban and rural sectors (members of the Canton) was achieved
and with said information properly processed it is expected to respond to the problem. The legal
foundation is based on legal aspects published and in force in Ecuador..

Los Indicadores de Sostenibilidad en el Plan de Desarrollo Agroturístico y Ecológico contribuirá a
que las autoridades dispongan de una herramienta de gestión que oriente las acciones que en
materia agroturística y ecológica procurarán su avance en el cantón Guaranda. En la justificación
se demuestra su necesidad, importancia, impacto y pertinencia. La Utilidad Teórica recoge de los
sectores privilegiados del cantón el agroturismo, la ecología y el turismo y la Utilidad práctica es
disponer de un plan integral. El objetivo general es el disponer de un plan de desarrollo
agroturístico y ecológico con base en Indicadores de Sostenibilidad para el mejoramiento de la
calidad de vida de los habitantes del cantón Guaranda; apoyados en varios objetivos específicos
que tributan al cumplimiento del plan. El diseño metodológico esta expresado en el método
Investigación – Acción – Participación con el cual se logró la participación de la sociedad, sus
sectores urbano y rural (integrantes del Cantón) y con dicha información debidamente procesada
se espera dar respuesta al problema. La fundamentación legal tiene la base en aspectos legales
publicados y vigentes en Ecuador.
